Old Brewery Site

July 2017 saw us purchase the old brewery site on Brewery Bank in Tweedmouth. We are currently working with architects in the interim to refine the plans and working on the terms of the lease with Northumberland College.

We have made an application to the Heritage Lottery Fund, we hope to hear the outcome of the grant application by Nov 2017.

Plans for this site are to work with Northumberland College and redevelop the site into a modern, up to date facility to improve the offer of further education in Berwick upon Tweed and the surrounding area. We hope the development will allow the College to expand its offer in the local area to encourage students to stay in the area and promote the growth of Berwick upon Tweed.

We are happy to share with you the initial drawings of what the proposed building may look like. Please note These are not the final plans.

Outline Plans

We will keep you updated with progress on this watch this space.

We have recently submitted a Heritage Enterprise Application to the Heritage Lottery Fund, this is a round 1 application to allow us to develop the proposed college enterprise building further and allow them to carry out initial works to the old Maltings Building. The estimated total cost of the project is expected to be around £2.4 million. Round 2 of the application process commences in November 18 and a decision is expected by March 2019 with an aim to complete Autumn 2020. The Trust will be sending in a Pre-submission to Northumberland County Council, meetings with conservationists and planners are already in process.
