Here For You

The Here for You service is run by Sarah our Here4You Project Officer. Sarah is offering drop in session on Tuesday Mornings and Thursday afternoons for job search activities. For CVs and Benefits checks you must contact us first to arrange a suitable appointment. We are continuing to support customers on a telephone basis if this more convenient, as it can reduce the need for travel if a simple CV update is required. Face to Face appointments are available for more complex issues. We also work closely with Berwick Food Bank providing extra support, advice and guidance to its customers to help with the crisis that they are facing.

Here for You supports everyone in the local community, there are no restrictions and you can be either in employment looking for a change of role or unemployed and looking to re-join the labour market. We accept customers from Berwick and its surrounding areas, this includes customers from just over the border living in the TD15 postcode.

We have a PC Suite with 5 Pcs, and 2 tablets that can be used by customers attending for sessions or appointments.

Activities include assisting customers with getting an up to date CV, accessing a computer for jobsearching, making benefit claims, completing application forms, interview and confidence building training, basic online computer skills and technology support for using different devices and platforms for jobsearching.

If you would like us to look at your current CV and/or Covering Letter then please email these to admin@nullberwicktrust.org.uk, with a message of the changes you would like made or what kind of work you are applying for. A member of the team will look over these for you and get in touch.

History
The scheme came into existence in January 2013 as a result of the closure of an other local provider and the void in service provision for Berwick that there absence left.

Here for You has received funding for operational costs through various charitable organisations over the years including The Community Foundation and the Salvation Army. Funding was also secured from DWP in 2013 through to 2016 and more recently via Bernicia’s Community Grant Fund Scheme. Here for You is always on the lookout for donors to fund its Charitable work in the community to sustain the support, advice and training services it delivers.

Here for You continues to grow from strength to strength and as well as unemployed customers they have also supported customers through redundancies at Seton Hall in 2015 as well as supporting employees from Jus Rol through 2016.

In June 2014 Here for You was awarded runner up in the Outstanding Project of the Year Award whilst in 2013 it was awarded the Innovation Award both by the Berwick Voluntary Forum
